Now in Arezzo:
“It is as if one is in the past and the future and the present all simultaneously. The patina of age on the house and borgo brings to you the history of Tuscany; its conversion brings you modern comfort. The village ambiance filters serenity. Tuscan weather is perfect, and the views are forever.“

Medieval Stone-Built Cottage with Views Into Forever
Songa La Fonte, a traditional stone built house, is perched atop the rolling Ambran hills in Tuscany. It is divided into two spacious apartments, both of which are available for holiday rentals.
Built in the 15th century, Songa La Fonte has been renovated by its architect owner with an eye to its history. The original ancient stone floors, interior walls and chestnut beamed terra cotta ceilings have been masterfully restored. The appointments and furnishings are an amalgamation of traditional and utterly modern. Kitchen and bathrooms are generously equipped to the highest of contemporary standards. Inside Songa La Fonte’s stone walls you find refreshing coolness on a hot summer’s day. In winter, the open fireplace and central heating keep you warm and cozy.
The nearest town is Ambra, four kilometers down in the valley, with a restaurant, grocery store, laundry, and bank. The fabled medieval cities of Tuscany and Umbria are only a little further afield. The splendors of Siena (32 kilometers), Arezzo (35 kilometers) and Florence (65 kilometers) are easily accessible. little further are Gubbio, Assisi, and San Gimignano. The Tuscan cuisine and wines Chianti, Motepulicano, and Brunello are here at their authentic best. Just thirtyfive minutes away, slightly south of Florence, is The Mall, a huge complex of luxury outlet shops where the best of Italian fashion and style are temptingly available.
The garden apartment comprises a livingroom with open fireplace and two bedrooms on two levels.

“Over the valley, down the Siena road, a right turn on to a white road, and then through pastoral countryside, we came on a most amazing sight; the borgo Sogna, brought back from ruin. This idyllic village dosing in the sun….” Frances Mayes, the best selling author in “Bringing
Tuscany Home” © 2004
Songa, a small village (borgo) consisting of twelve houses and a church, has been lived in since Etruscans grew wheat, grapes and olives on its fertile slopes. Briefly abandoned in the 1940’s, it was redeveloped in the 1990’s. The houses within a strictly pedestrian precinct are used almost exclusively by the owners so only a few are rented. As a guest at Sogna, you can swim in the private pool, play tennis, take a sauna or stroll through the olive groves.
Tranquility is guarantee. The nearest road is one and a half kilometers away in the valley below. Your peace is disturbed by the chirping of crickets and the call of birds. Atop a peaceful world, you dine al fresco under the vine covered pergola.
